Customer profile:

Located 45 minutes outside Spokane, Washington, the Coeur d'Alene Casino started as a tribal bingo hall in the early 1990s and has since grown into a casino, hotel, golf course, and convenience store. With gaming, world-class golf, top-name entertainment, the region's most popular dining experiences, and a landscape to matchnature's finest, it has become a true travel destination.

Coeur d'Alene has gone through six expansions since it was built in the 1990s, creating 202 luxury hotel rooms and more than 100,000 square feet of gaming space. The Circling Raven Golf Club is renowned as one of the finest new golf challenges in the region, the nation and the world.

Customer objective and constraints:

With millions of dollars in assets, as well as liability and compliance issues to deal with, the casino's old security recording system of VCRs and tapes wasn't cutting it."Their system was on video tape and wasn't really benefi ting the casino anymore," said Kevin Jetton, President of A-Tec, system integrator for Coeur d'Alene Casino. "They knew that they had to do some major changes and they decided to go digital." Not only did the casino want to update to a digital system, they also wanted a solution that was fl exible enough to incorporate their mixture of cameras until they were able to replace them with a single, Pelco-brand solution.

II. SOLUTION IMPLEMENTATION

Implementation methodology (main phases):

Before selecting the Endura solution, representatives visited Pelco world headquarters in Clovis, California. From detailed business-use analyses to in-depth product demonstrations, the experience helped solidify their view of Pelco's industry leadership on fanatical customer service.  While in Clovis, they had the opportunity to participate in hands on training, experiencing for themselves the power and performance of an Endura network-based solution. "Ease of use really made the product hit home with the customer, as well as the great training and fl exibility that come with Endura," Jetton said. With Endura, the casino found a fl exible solution that delivered the functionality that they were looking for while incorporating elements of their old security system.

Cameras are located in the more than 100,000 square feet of gaming space, parking lots, exterior, and convenience store. They also help secure the Circling Raven Golf Club, renowned as one of the finest new golf challenges in the region, the nation and the world.
"We have a better product to offer our business here. It's more concise, quicker, easier to manipulate, and it's straight forward" Sprague said.
